green light glow grows on me sickly
she reaches out to me to
rest warm hand upon my knee
flicks a switch say she’s got it now
the cricket between her teeth
narrowing spots nearer see
thoughts far gone & she
thinks her thoughts have fallen into
blue septic well wished sticks
together we be two
eyes squint apocalyptic green
paper hearts confetti swim
in a pool of gasoline
& silly smiles up the sea
dream in stripes on black sheets
that crinkle like cellophane weed killer
remember when we dressed up
as British Injuns & shot arrows
when cupid flew by
& when our dreams fell
from the big bloody ghastly
dry drip saliva like a queen
she awkward little green thing
missed when the oracle went blind
& saw farther East than behind
grab it while it lasts
cuz worms’ll tear it up like
marbles & rolling stones
that cry more than I
at the very best back of the sky
butt bare for her socks and cherries
spat pits the lunar debris
on the other side of these
eyes squint apocalyptic green
